Jeff Dahlman – Executive Director
Joining the Kids In Need Minnesota team in September of 2016, Jeff brings a background in both education and the non-profit world to his role as Executive Director. After serving as a teacher in both the Anoka-Hennepin School District and through Volunteers of America, Jeff joined the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, where he served in several leadership roles, including Membership Sales Director and Program Manager for the Sioux YMCA Initiative. As Executive Director, Jeff’s primary objective is to impact all students in need with school supplies in Minnesota by expanding KINMN’s service area from its beginnings in Minneapolis and St. Paul Schools to all eligible schools in the state.
Aside from serving the mission of KINMN, Jeff enjoys exercising, reading, exploring history, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Along with his wife, Gina, his happy place is enjoying all the wonderful moments inspired and provided by their daughter, Ashlyn, and son, Rylan.
Dale Walton – Resource Center Manager
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dale moved to the Twin Cities and joined the Kids In Need Minnesota team in 2012, bringing 40+ years of retail experience in management and operations, most notably in the record store industry. Dale designed and manages the Minnesota Resource Center and works closely with thousands of local teachers. He is dedicated to helping children in need, making sure they have the supplies to succeed in school. It goes without saying that Dale truly loves his work.
Dale is also a talented singer/songwriter who has toured the country. He has released 9 albums to date with a new one due out soon. You can find Dale’s music at https://dalewalton.bandcamp.com/
Brittany Swanson – Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator
Brittany was welcomed to the Kids In Need Minnesota team in March 2018 as our Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator. She brings years of volunteer management experience, organizational skills and her passion for connecting volunteers with meaningful opportunities to change lives through school supplies. You’ll also find Brittany out in the community at volunteer fairs, picking up supplies from school supply drives and finding ways to connect with new partners. When Brittany’s not at the office leading volunteer events or packing backpacks, you’ll find her curled up with her two cats and a good book. She’s always in search of new great books, so if you have a favorite, send it her way! Her and her husband Dan also loves to camp, hike, bike, and generally do anything outdoors in any season. Their favorite Saturdays usually consist of picking a great state park and heading off on the trails for a day.
Geoff Petrasek – Fulfillment and Inventory Coordinator
Geoff brought his diverse skill set to the Kids In Need Minnesota team in April of 2018 as our Fulfillment and Inventory Coordinator. Geoff’s primary responsibility is overseeing the product fulfillment of the Kids In Need Foundation’s School Ready Supplies (SRS) program, as well as maintaining the inventory for all Resource Center initiatives in our warehouse. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin River Falls where he majored in Exercise Science.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his two dogs Angus and Theo, watching football, and pursuing his dream of sampling ALL the craft beers, as well as wrestling a bear.
Maia Johnson – Program Support Specialist
Maia joined the Kids In Need Minnesota team in April of 2018. As the Program Support Specialist, her role is to help build the network of schools served by the Resource Center in the Twin Cities Metro area, as well as enroll qualifying schools throughout the rest of Minnesota. She also operates The Caring Tree, our grant program for community-based non-profits and social service agencies across Minnesota.
Maia previously worked in youth ministry and outdoor education and is proud that her work each day is making an impact on the future of local students. Maia is an avid collector of cozy patterned socks, enjoys backpacking and watercolor painting, and is especially enthusiastic about bagels with cream cheese.
